Momentum PTN is hiring a Early Intervention Assistant for our Torrance location.  As the Early Intervention Assistant, you will high quality, compassionate, and professional services to children with special needs and their families. Early Intervention Assistant Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Promotes a friendly, comfortable, and safe environment 
  • Respects and promotes the right of individuals 
  • Provides ongoing support to therapists and teachers by encouraging children to participate in therapy group or other program activities
  • Builds, supports, and maintains relationships with participating families 
  • Assists children in safely completing therapeutic activities and promote social interaction and play
  • Leads the developmental center activities by providing stimulating and structured play activities for children to practice the skills that they are learning in their therapy groups
  • Participates in daily collaboration and monthly staff meetings
  • Participates in maintenance of equipment and toys
  • Knows, follows, and upholds Momentum’s policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs

Early Intervention Assistant Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent; required 
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field; preferred 
  • Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities; required
  • Work collaboratively with families
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Successfully pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, TB test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
