Behavior Technician (BT)

Momentum is hiring Behavior Technicians for the Behavior Health Services program in Santa Ana. As a Behavior Technician you will be responsible for assisting the Behavior Analyst, providing direct support, positive direction, and assistance to persons supported. The Registered Behavior Technician will conduct, evaluate, and support the implementation of behavior plan strategies; and assist in the implementation of individualized goals and objectives for home, community, and center-based programs as indicated by the needs of the persons support.

Behavior Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected
- Supports Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on the proper implementation of reinforcement, proactive and preventive behavior programs and plans, data collection systems and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
- Conducts regular DSP and/or staff training and consultation
- Responsible for supporting the individual program and assisting the DSPs
- Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Behavior Analyst
- Assists in the development and implementation of all Support Plans
- Assists people in achieving their personal goals and desires, providing interaction and choices for activities that support a meaningful day, and supporting people to be independent in activities of daily living
- Learns and follows all Support Plans and IPP goals and objectives
- Responsible for documentation on the daily activities of the support plans and goals
- Ensures that people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process, ensuring people are treated with dignity and respect
- Maintains availability to respond to the needs of the persons we supported, providing on site assistance to behavior crisis situations
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet departments and/or business needs
Behavior Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- One (1) year of experience as a Direct Support Professional or experience working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred or as required by regulations
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external audiences and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
- Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to twenty-five(25) pounds
- Valid and current proof of legal right to drive; required
