Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Temporary

Torrance, CA

Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday


This position is temporary and is based on Momentum's current needs.  

Momentum PTN is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Therapist (SLP) to join our growing team in Torrance, CA. We're a nonprofit clinic with a long-standing presence in the South Bay community, offering compassionate, high-quality therapy services to children of all abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a friendly, safe, and inclusive therapy environment
  • Identifies different communication styles to develop effective communication with staff, families, teachers, and community partners
  • Provides individualized, goal-oriented therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs and family dynamics
  • Monitors and tracks upcoming reports due based on the funder
  • Serves as a liaison between the funder (school team, family, etc.) and the leadership team to pro-actively identify areas of concerns and maintain strong relationships with the community
  • Maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation, including daily notes in Raintree and progress reports 
  • Collaborates with other service providers, including, when appropriate, other therapists and classroom teacher

Qualifications

  • Master of Arts or Science degree from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) approved school of Speech Therapy (Required)
  • Meet the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, granted by the American Speech-Language Pathology (Required)
  • Strong Clinical Fellows will be considered 
  • Minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology (Required) 
  • CPR/First Aid certified (Preferred)

Additional Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in active, play-based therapy
  • Successful completion of background check, TB test, drug screening, and employment eligibility verification
  • Willingness to participate in disaster preparedness drills and emergency procedures

Our multi-disciplinary clinic is designed to provide our speech pathologists with the opportunity to experience collaboration on a whole new level. Our therapists have the opportunity to work in a variety of programs including early intervention programs, AAC development, Early Head Start, Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), Bilingual teams, Social Skills groups, Summer Programs and Parent Training. We also have opportunities for career growth including supervisory roles and program leads for those therapists looking to take on more. Our clinic has multiple treatment gyms, treatment spaces and a warehouse full of toys ready to use. Our speech department is full of excitement to bring on new clinicians to our team to further our mission of treating children of all abilities.
